Bear With Me Behavior Solutions PLLC is excited to present The Hangout! A friendship group with a behavior analytic spin, individuals within similar areas who are interested in meeting up with others, sharing interests, collaborating in designing a "friendship group" that is individualized to it's members. A unique opportunity for anyone who could use an extra friend or two. The goal of The Hangout. is to help create meaningful, lasting friendships.

How It Works: 

The Hangout. is whatever the members make it. Members have the opportunity to design their friendship group based on interests, creativity, inspirations, and creating a friendship with other teens their age. This is the perfect opportunity for an individual of any age who struggles building friendships, or needs a little opportunity to meet others! The Hangout. was designed 

for those with an autism diagnosis superpower, but is open to anyone who could use some help building meaningful friendships.

Groups will meet at different times per month in a a "social group" format, where they will have the opportunity to just hang out. We do not  use "therapy type" social groups that are structured and systematically lead, but we do believe there are important social, communication, and other learning opportunities that can take place in the natural occurring environment.

How Applied Behavior Analysis is Utilized: 

Each member will undergo an initial assessment and a treatment plan will be developed. In this plan, specific goals will be defined and intervention will be outlined. Then, individualized treatment programs will be created to focus in on achieving those behavioral goals. All interactions will take place during The Hangout. This means that a BCBA will be present during meetings for observation, data collection, environmental manipulation, and intervention implementation, using a technique called, Incidental Teaching. With incidental teaching, teens will aim to achieve goals while interacting in their natural environments. Other techniques such as self-monitoring and precision teaching, among others, as needed. Every member of the group will have their very own, individualized, treatment plan.
